Merbok MRX’s advanced moisture resistant properties makes the panel most suitable for a wide range of manufacturing, trade and building applications where long term stability and resistance to moisture are essential design criteria.
Merbok MRX is designed for use in more humid environments such as kitchens and bathrooms that maybe exposed to occasional water spills and dampness.
Long Term Integrity
Merbok MRXs excellent physical properties make the panel most suitable for a wide range of manufacturing, trade and building applications where long term stability and resistance to moisture are essential design criteria.
Merbok MRX is designed for use in more humid environments that maybe exposed to occasional water spills and dampness. Merbok MRX’s homogeneous fine texture, high bonding strength and inherent stability allows precise and easy machining of panel face and edges, creating endless design and finished product opportunities.
Merbok MRX is bonded with a special high moisture resistant binder making it suitable for many applications including joinery, furniture, mouldings, architraves, doors, shelving, wall linings and partitions in laundries, bathrooms and kitchens.
Merbok MRX is coloured dark PINK of MDF boards that exceed to European Standards for high moisture resistance.
STANDARD PRODUCTS
Merbok MRX is available in standard thickness of 7.5, 11, 17 and 18mm. The standard panel size is 2440mm x 1220mm.
STORING AND HANDLING MERBOK MRX
Merbok MRX should be stored undercover in a dry, well ventilated area. Sheets should be stored flat with uniformly and vertically aligned support bearers which should be placed evenly at 600mm centres. For thinner panels, we recommend the use of 18mm base boards. All packing materials should be disposed of thoughtfully.
WORKING WITH MERBOK MRX
Merbok MRX can be cut, machined, filed and drilled with commonly available woodworking equipment. The best cutting can be obtained using 72-96 teeth saw blades. It is recommended that appropriate sized pilot holes should be drilled prior to dowelling, nailing or screwing. If Merbok MRX is to be used in areas of high humidity, a water resistant adhesive such as a two pack resorcinol or epoxy type for joining is recommended. Oil, water-based paints and varnishes may be used. It is recommended that all faces are sealed with a moisture resistant sealant. Refer to Merbok’s website for detailed information.
It is recommended that when working with MRX suitable dust masks are worn and the work environment is well ventilated.
