Merbok Gold Thinpanel’s homogeneous fine texture, high bonding strength and hard, smooth surface allows endless design and finished product opportunities.
Merbok Gold Thinpanel is recommended for interior applications such as lacquered, veneered or film faced wardrobe backs, drawer bottoms, cupboard backs, curved feature wall panels, door skins and other applications requiring a thin panel.
Merbok Gold Thinpanel is recommended for interior use only and should not be exposed to damp conditions or high humidity.
STANDARD PRODUCTS
Merbok Gold Thinpanel is available in various standard thicknesses from 2.2mm to 6mm, and 2.3 un-sanded boards. The standard panel sizes are 2440mm x 1220mm, 2440mm x 1830mm and 2440mm x 2135mm. MDF panels conforming to E1 (<8mg / 100g) when tested according EN 120:2004 and (<0.5 <1.5mg / L) when tested according to JISA5905:2004 are also available.
STORING AND HANDLING MERBOK THINPANELS
Merbok Gold Thinpanel should be stored undercover in a dry, well ventilated area. Sheets should be stored flat on >18mm base boards with uniformly and vertically aligned support bearers which should be placed evenly at 600mm centres. All packing materials should be disposed of thoughtfully.
WORKING WITH MERBOK THINPANELS
Merbok Gold Thinpanel can be cut, machined, filed and drilled with commonly available woodworking equipment. The best cutting can be obtained using 72-96 teeth saw blades. PVA wood glues are recommended for gluing prior to fixing. Oil, water-based paints and varnishes may be used. Refer to Merbok’s website for detailed information.
It is recommended that when working with MDF suitable dust masks are worn and the work environment is well ventilated.
