The future of Sri Lankan architecture, the undergraduates of the Department of Architecture were offered the chance to get to know technical and theoretical aspects of MDF along with a practical experience to see the manufacturing process at Merbok on 6th of November 2017.
The event took place at the factory premises and students were given a lecture session by Mr. P.A Kumara, the Operational Manager of Merbok MDF Lanka, about MDF related technical facts and on the wide range of Merbok MDF products which have been developed for a variety of usages.
The experience provoked the student¹s interest in the modern novelties in MDF products which are widely used in the field of architecture due to its many advantages and trends and additionally they had the chance to witness the fascinating and complex operational procedure of MDF manufacturing according to international quality standards with modern technology.

Merbok has conducted another sales and product knowledge workshop, organised by Merbok Sales department, Production and QA department Manager together with Puwakaramba sales staff involved in dealing with Merbok products.
The main purpose was to improve the sales agent¹s knowledge in Merbok MDF boards in technical and practical terms, which ultimately benefits the customer in selecting the perfect product for the requirement.
The program took the face of a training session for the MDF sales agents to handle the inquiries on Merbok MDF and to help the customers with technical instructions on handling Merbok MDF correctly. Launching of the Melamine edge bands to match the Merbok Global Art designs as an associate product to Merbok Global Art also took place.
As the only MDF board manufacturer in Sri Lanka, Merbok proudly represented the country at the
biggest international showcase for wood and related industry , DubaiWoodshow-2016 held on 4 th to 6 th
April at Dubai World trade Center.
The exhibition was held in UAE Dubai world trade center providing a global platform for wood related
industries world wide to showcase the standard products and novelties in modern wood technology.
The exhibition was held with the participation of more than 250 exhibitors from over 30 countries and
Merbok was the one and only representative from Sri Lanka.
Merbok is a preferred brand for MDF in the Middle East region, and well recognized for the Merbok
Global Art product. At Dubaiwood-2016 Merbok took its latest product, veneer faced MDF ‘’Hybrid”
board product to the Middle East market giving a more elegant wooden touch to the normal MDF
board.
